Mont Cadillac

Mont Cadillac

Bluenose Inn Looking Glass Restaurant. 8:23
Blue Nose Looking Glass 9h01
We left the restaurant to climb (by car) Cadillac Mountain. Interestingly, Mount Desert Island was given to a frenchman named Cadillac in the 1600s thus the name of the highest peak on the Eastern coast, about 1530 feet (Tremblant is 3000 feet hight). Cadillac also went on to create the city of Detroit, hence the name of the famous car for the simili-rich. Even if only half as high as Tremblant it does feel quite high

We did a few shops before going back to the Inn. I unfortunately do not remember their names but some had really cool stuff in them. I'm particularly fond of miniature wooden ships. As soon as I have an office
It was time to come back. We were quite tired but that didn't stop me (the kids followed) to go get a bottle of wine at the bar. Once the kids were in bed we got to relax a bit. We had a great day.
Bar Harbor - 18h24
'' This is where we stayed when I came with my mom and sister in 1987. That's my grandmother Simone sitting on the chair. I remember us eating lunch on a rock near the water somewhere and out of nowhere a seagull flew in her face and stole her sandwich'' Note : that I've gone to Bar Harbor between seven and ten times (can't really recall, but it's often)

Bar Harbor Trail 18h00
Exiting the trail we came back on Main Street where we saw the motel we had stayed in the first time we were here (in 1995 I believe). I have such fond memories of that trip. It was good the motel was almost downtown for we had drank a one litre bottle of wine at the time. Great souvenirs..

West Street Café Seaside Grill; 16:49pm
''We then took a walk along the shore and on an old path marked by multiple posts called "Museum in the Street." Really cool stuff. I was also impressed by Mathieu's ability to read, especially ship names. He's come a long way'' Martin

Bar Harbor - 16h20

Blue Nose Inn
''We finally got to our destination, the Bluenose Inn. A motel, something we're not crazy about because it's kinda annoying when everyone can look at you in the window when they walk to their room, but it was ok nonetheless. Here's a view from our hotel'' Martin.

''After a quick shower we drove to Bar Harbor, about a mile away. It was about the same as we remember it. We found a little restaurant for dinner. The food was typical common seafood, definitely not gourmet, but it felt good. The drink was cool''
Ellsworth 14h40

Six years have passed since Jake Sanders watched Natalie, the love of his life, marry another man. Six years of hiding a broken heart by throwing himself into his career as a college professor. Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd.
But six years haven’t come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd’s obituary, he can’t keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for . . . but she is not Natalie. Whoever the mourning widow is, she’s been married to Todd for more than a decade, and with that fact everything Jake thought he knew about the best time of his life—a time he has never gotten over—is turned completely inside out.
As Jake searches for the truth, his picture-perfect memories of Natalie begin to unravel. Mutual friends of the couple either can’t be found or don’t remember Jake. No one has seen Natalie in years. Jake’s search for the woman who broke his heart—and who lied to him—soon puts his very life at risk as it dawns on him that the man he has become may be based on carefully constructed fiction.
Harlan Coben once again delivers a shocking page-turner that deftly explores the power of past love and the secrets and lies that such love can hide.
Midway : 12h50
''We couldn't stay outside too long though, we were being lunch while eating ours. We finished our lunch in the truck while driving. The speed on that highway was even better then in N.B.: 70 miles/hour.

After a long but beautiful drive (Suzanne studied the whole way from Campbellton), we finally got to Ellsworth, a few miles North of Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island. Below is the airport where I took my first flight ever (probably in one of the planes there). It was an amazing gift from my mom. We got to circle Mount Desert Island. An amazing experience I will never forget... Thanks mom!'' Martin
Campbelton 8h18
''We then usually come back in Quebec to continue our road for home. Not this time. We continue down on the highway to get to Maine. While the drive was long it was kinda fun to drive on a highway with a max limit of 110 kms. Fifteen minutes passed the U.S. border we stopped at a rest stop for lunch''

685 kilomètres
''We left for Bar Harbor around 6:30am on Thursday, a full hour late because we slept in. It had rained all night and the clouds were pretty low. When we come back from our visit to Gaspé we usually stop at the McDonald's in Campbellton for breakfast'' Martin
